Hello Kurrent Community,
As I’ve recently started providing announcements in this channel, I want to acknowledge that we’ve been less communicative than ideal during a period of significant changes for our company. Notably, we rebranded from Event Store to Kurrent without a formal community announcement. We apologize for this oversight and are committed to improving our engagement moving forward.
We’ve introduced several substantial updates over the past few months, which I will be sharing over the next few days and weeks. Today, I wanted to ensure that everyone is aware that an archiving feature was released in version 25.0 of KurrentDB. Archiving enables efficient storage management by offloading older, less frequently accessed data (“cold data”) to external storage solutions, such as Amazon S3. This approach maintains the accessibility of historical data while reducing the storage burden on local disks, optimizing both performance and cost.
For more information on Archiving, check out this blog from Kurrent Engineer, Shaan Nobee: Archiving: Keep your data hot and cold
